Albariño Capital
Elegant, aromatic and fruity, this is what Albariño “the golden prince of wines”, is like. An Atlantic wine that combines the land and sea of the Rias Baixas and improves when you look at it, smell it, taste it, … Surrounded by the environment where the vines that the Cluny monks brought from France to the neighbouring monastery of Armenteira (Meis) in the Middle Ages to turn the place into the cradle of Albariño, although recent studies say it is an original vine from this area.
Over time, creating a wine culture with its own name, the work of hundreds of entrepreneurs and winemakers have given international fame to this wine with a golden colour and fresh notes that pairs so well with seafood and the garden produce from Cambados. An ambassador around which an economic fabric has been created that draws the visitor through wine tourism. Cambados is the capital of Albariño! It is during our Festival, in the first weekend of August, when each year the best Albariño of the world is chosen.
